Randomized Action Madness
Archero is a familiar game but its randomized and casual nature of gameplay always keeps things exciting. It borrows concepts from Brawl Stars, art style from Clash Royale and weapon design from Transistor but still manages to have an identity of its own.
Archero is a top down shooter where you control your main character to travel through various arenas. The controls are extremely simple and joystick based. The cool part is that the game allows to either walk or shoot. This creates for intense moments where you have to either run away from an enemy or stay and shoot one. Every area has its own set of monsters to defeat and at this time, there are 10 different areas. The boss fights are difficult yet memorable. In order to finish an area, you have to finish all of its levels in one go.
The most fun part of the game are its weapons. Every time you level up you get to choose from 3 random power-ups. These include double arrows, poison arrows, extra health and increased speed to name a few. This feature gets more exciting as these powerups get added on top of each other every-time you level up creating a unique experience in every playthrough.
The powerups act as upgrades within a play through while there are ways to make your character stronger between games. This is done through permanent upgrades, equipment and weapons that you get while playing a level. All of this requires experience points that you get by playing the game or watching ads. You can sink these points in personal upgrades or weapon upgrades. The other important currency here is the gems that helps you continue a level if you die. It is not too hard to come by but you will feel the pinch if you want to quickly progress in the game.
Archero is a unique experience. I can say that one of its cons is that it is very tough but that just adds to the overall excitement. One annoying bit about the game is that it asks to load every time you use any currency. If you can bear with that minor glitch, you are in for an innovative, fun and addictive ride.
